Steven J. Varkony, M.D., is one of Southern California’s most respected board-certified plastic surgeons. With decades of experience and a lengthy roster of satisfied patients, he has performed countless procedures covering all types of plastic surgeries – including some he invented.
Canadian by birth, Dr. Varkony began his studies at McGill University in Montreal, widely considered Canada’s finest medical school. He remained at McGill to complete his training in general surgery. Later, he performed his residency at the University’s noted plastic surgery unit, where he served as chief resident. The doctor then headed to the USA’s West Coast where he completed a plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Southern California. From that point, Dr. Varkony remained in the Greater Los Angeles area working with some of the area’s finest medical institutions and opening his own successful practice.
Currently, Dr. Varkony is on staff at the world-famous Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, in addition to serving as a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is noted as the inventor of several widely used plastic surgeries, including the 30-minute breast enlargement and hidden scar arm lift. With the hidden scar technique, Dr. Varkony can more effectively mask the appearance of incisions in all of his procedures, resulting in little or no visible scarring for his patients.
