Frequently asked questions about the Mommy Makeover procedure.

What is a Mommy Makeover?

A mommy makeover addresses a woman’s post-pregnancy body issues in a single-session surgery. It typically combines two or more of the following;

Tummy Tuck/Mini Tummy Tuck

Breast Lift

Breast Augmentation

What is a Tummy Tuck?

Tummy Tuck

Also known as abdominoplasty

Are you considering a Tummy Tuck? If you have worked hard to achieve the ideal body weight but you still have excess skin that refuses to go away, you may want to consider an abdominoplasty from The Plastic Surgery Center. Through this procedure, you can have the toned and tighter stomach that you desire.

What is a Breast Lift?

Breast Lift

(Also known as mastopexy)

For women who want to correct sag and look higher and “perkier” without going much larger, breast lifting is available in a variety of techniques. Sometimes Dr. Varkony combines a breast lift with a small implant, not only to raise the breast but to give more fullness to the upper pole.

What is a Breast Augmentation?

Breast Augmentation

Are you dreaming of a more shapely, feminine figure? Or wanting to restore what pregnancy and breastfeeding has taken away?

Through a combination of listening to your appearance goals, careful measurements, and extensive experience, Dr. Varkony can help you achieve your new look. The Plastic Surgery Center offers a full selection of FDA-approved breast implants, including both saline and silicone.

What is Liposuction?

Let Liposculpting give you a beautiful sculpted body in minimal time. No need to stress over those stubborn problem areas. Liposculpting can help eliminate fat from the hips, love handles, saddlebags, thighs, breasts, back, arms, and neck.

While diet and exercise are important, most people can’t lose weight in certain areas no matter how hard they try. These areas include the neck, abdomen, hips, waist, arms, inner and outer thighs in women, and the neck, abdomen and waist in men.

How long should I wait after pregnancy to have a procedure?

You want to wait several months after pregnancy before you have a tummy tuck to allow your uterus size to return to normal, this will enable Dr. Varkony to really tighten your abdomen to give you the best result.

If you were to have a breast surgery, you will need to wait at least 6 months before having the procedure. If by chance you are breast feeding, wait 6 months after you finish breast feeding to allow the breast to settle down.

What is the cost of a Mommy Makeover?

The cost of a mommy makeover depends on what procedures you and Dr. Varkony decide will give you the best results.

Where do the procedures take place?

Procedures are done in our fully certified out- patient surgical center, along with board-certified anesthesiologists, and certified registered nurses.

Will I need someone caring for me after surgery?

Yes. It is very important to have a family member, friend, or medical professional care for you during the first few days following your procedure.

Do I need to see my own doctor before a Mommy Makeover?

All patients require basic lab tests, medical clearance, and history & physical from their primary care physician. If the patient is over the age of 45 we require an EKG along with the standard testing.

What type of anesthesia will be used?

For almost all cases, general anesthesia will be used, which means you will be completely asleep and pain-free during the entire case. Some other patients, having shorter procedures, can have lighter sedation. However, everyone will be completely comfortable during the procedure.
